The Salten mountain plateau is a natural area with extensive meadowland strewn with larch trees and with an extraordinary view of the Dolomites and Sarntal Alps.

Route: Hotel Schönblick Belvedere - Gasthof Tomanegger - Salten - Gasthof Edelweiß - center of the village - Hotel Schönblick

Things of interest along the route: The extensive larch meadows only exist here thanks to the care given to them by the people from the high woodlands. Around 500 years ago the woods here began to be felled for pasturing and it later became largely cleared of the pinetrees, leaving only the larches standing.
