Buchteln - South Tyrolean dessert from the Landhotel Sand
Ingredients for 20 pieces
500 gr flour
30 gr baking powder
150 gr butter
1 egg
3 egg yolks
60 gr sugar
1 cup of milk (warm)
salt, lemon
a little rum

Preparation
Dissolve the baking powder and the sugar in the warm milk, bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add the flour and let the dough rise. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend until the dough no longer sticks to the pan. Let it rise again, strain the dough, make circles out of it, spread jam on top of each one, close them like balls, spread with butter. Now cook the little balls in a bain-marie for 10 minutes, than add to the water some ice cubes and continue to cook for another 20 minutes.
