The designation Alpine Pearls stands for a vacation with Soft Mobility in 22 unique Alpine destinations in Europe. They promise sustainability, protection of our climate and top quality tourism.
Names sonorous and familiar are among them, celebrated winter and summer sports destinations - and also small and delightful villages well off the beaten track. But they all have one thing in common: our Pearls of the Alps will clearly prove to you that doing without your car - at least in part - in no way limits your freedom and your holiday pleasure, but enriches the experience in a quite wonderful manner.
The Pearl Nova Ponente
Escaping the noise and the hectic! Here in the heart of the Italian Dolomites only 20 minutes away from Bolzano you will find the sunny locations of the villages Nova Ponente (1350), Eggen (1100), Obereggen (1550) and Petersberg (1380) where exclusive and gentle holiday delight is still yours to discover. Hundreds of kilometres of well marked paths await you: an incredible voyage of discovery for all who love to hike or walk; it is yours to choose between a stroll through Alpine meadows with their sheer blaze of flowers or the fragrant woods - or a challenging climb to the heights. The public bus will take you to the best places for starting any kind of tour, free of charge. Winter is not to be missed with 40 km of perfectly prepared slopes and100% snow certainty. The sun shines here an incredible 300 days a year and after sundown the floodlit skiing and tobogganing slopes at Obereggen at the Latemar Ski Centre make this one of the best loved winter sports locations.
