Vitalpina Hotels has just launched and is a group of 17 quality establishments in South Tyrol dedicated to activity, soft adventure and wellbeing experiences for people who want that little bit extra from their holiday. Each hotel offers hiking and walking activities with qualified mountain guides as well as local spa treatments such as hay, wool or apple blossom baths to truly relax and invigorate visitors.

Home away from home at Walthershof Hotel
This recently renovated family-run hotel, part of the Vitalpina hotel group, is situated in a charming, lush valley dotted with cosy mountain inns and farms near Val d'Ultimo / Ultental. During the summer, Walter, the founder of the hotel, organises week-long walking itineraries which start with gentle rambles through Alpine meadows and culminate with more vigorous ascents to the Ulten nature reserve. Other activities on offer include mountain biking, Nordic walking and paragliding. You will be rewarded with panoramic views, fine wines and gourmet food prepared by Walter's son Gunter and relaxing spa treatments at the hotel's wellness centre run by Gunter's wife Victoria. Prices start at €75 per person per night half board.
