Enjoying safe holidays

Tourism has picked up again and we at the Vitalpina Hotels are also glad to be welcoming guests back to South Tyrol! We have prepared a short guide, consisting of five simple tips, to make sure you enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday:

Smart travel on public transport

We in South Tyrol are proud of our smoothly functioning public transport network with its buses, trains and cable cars that every day carry thousands of locals and holidaymakers alike to their destination. Before planning a trip with public transport in South Tyrol, however, check out the timetables and peak times at your hotel so as to avoid long queues and overcrowded buses, trains and lifts. And, if you do have to wait, please note that the rules will also apply when queuing: wear a mask and keep a safe distance from others.

Not the hot spots!

South Tyrol of course has its hot spots that, year in year out, attract thousands of people looking to take a perfect holiday snapshot. Yet away from these well-known destinations are plenty of comparatively unknown valleys, Alpine pastures and tours to be discovered. Let the Vitalpina hoteliers in their respective regions advise you on which paths and trails to take – without getting stuck in traffic jams or long lines of hikers.

Ideas for a rainy day

In rainy weather the idea of a summit tour usually loses its appeal, so many holidaymakers head for South Tyrol’s cities, museums and shops. To avoid the crowds, we also recommend asking the staff at our Vitalpina Hotels for tips on rainy days that avoid the same destination as everyone else. And, in the spirit of the South Tyrolean saying that “there’s no bad weather, only bad gear”, why not take a short walk in the forest, even during light rain? You will notice the benefits of the fresh rain air for your lungs.

Hygiene first!

Even if we would prefer to forget it while on holiday in the great outdoors or in the mountains, it is still important to disinfect your hands regularly after using public transport or after a visit to a mountain inn or when returning to the hotel. We take great care to ensure that all the areas of our Vitalpina Hotels are kept meticulously clean with the aid of special cleaning procedures, and you will find disinfectant dispensers on every corner – thank you for your co-operation!
