Don’t fancy the long queues at the ski lifts or the bad behaviour on the slopes? There’s no need for any of that: South Tyrol has nearly 30 skiing areas offering a total of 1,219 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes. And, for those who prefer more in the way of peace and quiet, the Vitalpina Hotels of South Tyrol all have qualified walking guides who will show guests the silence to be enjoyed in our region.
Across untouched snow fields to white-capped peaks
Those who enjoy hiking in the warmer months are equally able to enjoy it here in winter. Snowshoes on your feet, you pass through silent forests and virgin snowfields, or ascend white-capped peaks. Each Vitalpina Hotel offers at least three guided winter hikes or snowshoe excursions a week, with your host personally accompanying guests at least once a week. You don’t have your own gear? Your hosts will take care of it, as you can rent professional equipment directly from the hotel: snowshoes, rucksacks, hiking poles, maps – all available “in-house”.
The “hygge-est” of feelings
What could be nicer than to snuggle up in the evening following a long walk in the powdery snow? The hip Danish word “hygge” describes this feeling and is perhaps best translated as “cosiness”: a comfy, convivial atmosphere where you can enjoy the good things in life with friendly people. Come and visit a Vitalpina Hotel, make yourself at home and enjoy a super-hygge holiday!
Our specialists in snowshoe excursions at a glance.
