The Vitalpina Hotels of South Tyrol have dedicated themselves to an important issue: healthy eating. Hiking and outdoor activities in the Alpine landscape are combined with healthy, regional and local foods and wellbeing treatments that use indigenous and traditional natural products.
Your hosts at the family-run Vitalpina Hotels of South Tyrol enjoy treating busy guests to easy-to-digest delights. In our kitchens we make every effort to preserve nutrients and use ingredients taken from the local area – perfect for connoisseurs with a conscience. Mealtimes at the Vitalpina Hotels are also of course tailored to the needs of mountain walkers.
Regional & seasonal: food for both body and soul
Regionality is key to the Vitalpina nutrition concept. Vitalpina cuisine is a declaration of love for high-quality ingredients, genuine produce and the fresh spring water of South Tyrol. Traditional dishes are thus wholesomely reinterpreted to take account of advances in nutritional science. Eating at the Vitalpina Hotels of South Tyrol is based on the following concepts:
• Seasonal, regional and organic produce
• Alpine traditions and Mediterranean cuisine
• Vitalpina menus for a balanced diet
• Dietetic and health foods and daily vegetarian menus
• Fresh bread baked on the premises or obtained from the local baker
• High-quality wines from South Tyrol
Vitalpina chefs prefer to obtain their ingredients and produce from local farmers and food producers in order to foster regional circuits. Vitalpina Hotels also largely avoid portion-packed products (products for allergy sufferers are the only exception). Some Vitalpina Hotels are certified as offering gluten-free cuisine and, in addition to preparing vegetarian dishes, many Vitalpina Hotels offer vegan fare. All Vitalpina chefs are also ready to cater for any special requirements, diets or intolerances.
The Vital breakfast: the best start to the day
At least 80% of the products on the breakfast buffet at a Vitalpina Hotel will also be of local origin: authentic South Tyrolean bread varieties, fresh fruit and vegetables from the area and fresh dairy produce (milk and organic milk, butter, yogurt, cheese) from local farm dairies and cheesemakers, as well as muesli, honey and jam from South Tyrolean producers. South Tyrolean smoked products, local farm-fresh eggs and teas made from native herbs complete the regional breakfast buffet. Plus a jug of fresh spring water on the breakfast table, of course.
