Today we've choosen a harder hike than usually. We are off to the Monte Piana above the Misurina lake in our neighbour province Belluno.
Starting from the guesthouse Three Peaks near the "Dürrensee" the way brings us over a small notch, past a secured shelf of war relicts up to the top of the Monte Piana . This place is from historical importance and still shows us the trails of the First World War. After the 3 hours long climb up we were very burned out, but anyhow we went to the open-air-museum, which tells many things about the war years 1915 to 1917. Beyond all questions it was a very important alpine front between Austria and Italy. After that, we made a rest in the "Bosi" hut, which is a much for wallowers. In the late afternoon our small group returned exhausted but all in good health to the hotel.
