On the 2nd weekend in October, the village of St. Magdalena in Val Casies also celebrates its church day.
On Saturday, the original return of cattle is on the programme. The farmers with their decorated cattle come directly from the alpine pastures where the animals spent the whole summer. If the animals wear a black ribbon on their bells during the coming home, it is a sign that someone from the family has died during the year. At the end of the valley there is traditional food and music until the end of the festival.
On Sunday, the church day is celebrated extensively in the village clubhouse with a traditional morning pint with live music and local specialities.
